Go Check Out Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh’s Village District
The HMD team has successfully completed Goodnights Comedy Club’s new 11,000 SF space in the basement below Cape Fear Seafood Company in the Village District. Goodnights, a Raleigh fixture celebrated in the comedy world, has hosted top talent globally as well as nationally and locally, throughout the past 40 years.
Most recently, Anthony Jeselnik and Dave Attell, arguably two of the nation’s top comedic talent, christened the new space, each selling out their six shows with high praise. The new venue will allow top talent in the US and beyond to continue making Raleigh a must-stop on tour. The new space gives patrons and talent alike the look and feel of what a comedy club should be: State-of-the-art space with the large metropolitan feel of a below-ground venue much like New York, Boston, Philly, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
HMD converted the 80-year-old former Bargain Box space into its present day world-class venue for comedy. After installing 25 helical piers, 160 tons of structural steel, hundreds of yards of concrete, new sprinkler/fire alarm system, custom millwork, all new HVAC, plumbing and electrical, interior finishes, and a fully operational commercial-grade kitchen, along with the challenges of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s holidays, Goodnights was completed ahead of schedule!
The HMD team worked closely with New City Design, Maple Engineering, the City of Raleigh, Regency Centers-Raleigh, a multitude of the area’s top subcontractors, and the entire Goodnights ownership team in a strategic effort to bring this project to fruition, and providing a flawless delivery… A big thanks to all!
Please go check out this Raleigh landmark! With plenty of restaurants in the Village District such as Cape Fear Seafood Company directly above, it’s the perfect recipe for dinner-and-a-show.
